My love for horror and all things Stephen
I now have two new Stephen King books. For those of you who don't know (probably most of you), I love Stephen King. I would stalk him if I lived anywhere near him. Hell, I'd own all of his books if I could find them in ENGLISH over here. *grumbles*

Anyway, I know have "The Shining" (which is slowly killing me, of course) and "Bag of Bones". I read a good review of Bag of Bones and went ahead and bought it. Also, I bought "On Off" by Colleen McCullough. I read the summary that's on the back of the book and it sounded interesting enough.

The only reason I bought them was that there was this fair in my school and you can buy things there and charge it to your monthly tuition fee. *nods* That totally works for me. Otherwise? I wouldn't have bought them. *sniff*

I wanted to ask though, there was this other book I could have bough of Stephen King, "Christine" but I wasn't sure if it was good or not. Then again, I'm pretty sure SK has nothing but amazing books, but still. For example, I'm still hoping against hope to someday find "It" in English and in my price range (meaning I can charge them to my tuition fee *g*), or "Pet Sementary". "The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon" is this huge thing of a mystery to me. I think I'll love it, even though I have no idea what it is about. *g*

So, right now I have:

  • Firestarter

  • Thinner

  • Rose Madder (these first three? Second hand. Only way I could find them and my God those people need to know to respect their books, damn it!)

  • The Dead Zone (personal favorite)

  • The Talisman (haven't gotten around to read it)

  • The Dark Tower. Volumes I and II.

  • The Shining (NEW!)

  • Bag of Bones (CAN'T WAIT!)

  • Christine (I can't believe it!)

Oh, any thoughts on "Lisey's story"? I might buy it, if I can find it in paperback. *nods* So. Yeah. *bounces* Books!

k--you know we share the SK gene, right? I haven't read Lisey's Story (I seem to remember bad reviews) but Christine is truly creepy in a good way.

Truly scary? Cujo. Talisman is sort of like the Movie Highlander in that you keep flipping back and forth between worlds and times. I remember loving it but I read it like 20 years ago.

I just finished the 7th in The Dark Tower series. They take forever to read but it was worth it. Still---my all time favorite and spookiest book EVA has to be IT.

Damn it! Livejournal ate my comment! *grumbles*

Okay, I didn't know! I love SK, really, I do. I can share him with Tabitha, I'm not jealous. *g*

I didn't buy Cujo! I downloaded it. *hangs head in shame* I have to tell you, you have no idea how difficult it is to find books in english! It's SO FREAKING HARD. Like, no one reads in English over here! I found the first three books in my list in second hand fairs and those people need to learn to RESPECT THE WRITTEN WORD, DAMN IT! *cough* So, I keep looking for SK's work in the "old books fair" that's at school once a year. *sniff*

I have The Talisman but I can't seem to be able to read it! I start it but then I have to put it down for something school related and then when I pick it up it's three months later and I don't remember the two pages I read, so I start it again and then I have to read this other stuff for school. *sighs* Hopefully, after The Shining.

OHHHH, The Shining OWNS ME. I love it in a way that I haven't loved a book IN YEARS. I DO!!! *dies a little bit* Oh, and the beginning of Cujo really scared me. I mean, dude, the eyes in the closet and the way the kid (can't remember his name) thought, "oh, he is real mommy, you just can't see him" scared the crap out of me! *nods*

Christine, huh? I'll have to buy it. *sighs* Oh, boy. *sniff*

I have the first two Dark Towers. Hopefully I'll be able to get to them sometime this year? *giggles* Yeah. Probably after "Bag of Bones". *g*

Yays! Read it with the lights on. (I kid. It was creepy but more of a psychological thing than a spook thing)

You have got to read Carrie and The Stand. The Stand is my 100% all time favorite book ever. Hell - send me your address and I will send you a copy, I promise.

Gerald's Game on the other hand, way freaky, and I only managed a couple of chapters before - uh, no.

Seriously, Johanna. Send me your address and I will get you some books. I might be able to get some used, the rest, I'll spring for, since I have a job now.

I love you, I love you. I love you. *nods*

I was going to buy Carrie, but instead got "Christine". *nods* I have to add that one to my list.

Gerald's Game? God, it sounds so... creepy and yes, I can't wait to read that one too. Anything from Stephen, truth be told. *nods*

Dude, my first three SK's books were second hand (and horrible second hand at that) and I still love them so. I don't care as long as I can read them! *huggles* I love you so.

I'm sending you an email right about now...
